I often enjoy browsing through the Design Within Reach catalog. Unfortunately, I think that most of their merchandise is only “within reach” if you happen to be standing on a very large pile of thousand-dollar bills… but this holiday season, they have some nifty gift items at relatively low prices, including some notebooks! I kind … Continue reading Notebooks at Design Within Reach→
Here’s a neat concept: a sort of modular notebook system in which you can combine various paper types into one big notebook by slotting their covers together, made by StartHere. Here’s a description of the starter set you can order: We’ve put together our favorite items, chosen to give you a complete system that allows … Continue reading StartHere Linkable Notebooks→
I’m fortunate to work in a neighborhood with some great shopping– or perhaps it’s unfortunate, as the temptation to overspend can be dangerous! Here in New York’s Flatiron/Chelsea district I have at least 3 good stationery/art supply shops within a short walk: Paper Access, Sam Flax, and A. I. Friedman. Today I spent part of … Continue reading Lunchtime at the Stationery Store→
Here’s some attractive notebooks, printed on recycled paper with soy inks: Workbook Duos, by EcoJot. They look like they are packaged similarly to Moleskine cahiers, but this is another one of those frustratingly uninformative websites: what is the size of these notebooks? It doesn’t seem to say anywhere, and you have to dig into each … Continue reading Workbook Duos by EcoJot→
Cool! I was very intrigued by Doane Paper when I first saw it at The Pen Addict. Now they offer it in pocket notebooks! They measure 3.5 x 5.5″ and sound like they are very similar to Moleskine cahiers, but with the nice combo graph & lined Doane Paper. I wish the cover didn’t have … Continue reading Pocket Sized Doane Paper Notebooks→
Here’s some nice colorful notebooks from a UK website called “Papergrain: The Stationery Boutique.” Unfortunately, I think they’d get pretty pricey with the exchange rate and shipping from the UK…
Ooh, I want one! There are various book titles available. [via Retro to Go] You can buy them from Colloco, but be warned if you are a fan of the pocket Moleskine shape– the website says the notebooks measure 16.6 x 9cm, which would make them taller than they appear in this photo.
Black Cover has just reviewed a very promising Moleskine-alternative, the Picadilly Notebook. It only costs $5, which, given recent economic events, will surely be appealing to all the addicts out there who were planning to cash out their 401ks to buy notebooks. Black Cover has even given readers a code for a 15% discount! Less … Continue reading Two New Notebook Reviews at Black Cover: The Picadilly Notebook and the Agawami +1→
