I spent the last couple of days at the BookExpo convention at the Javits Center in New York. It’s mostly focused on book publishing, but there are always some cool stationery vendors there. I spent some time in the Exaclair booth, where Karen showed me their new items, some of which I hope to review soon. Here’s some photos of all the goodies on display:
Cool new QuoVadis notebooks with famous artworks on the covers:
QuoVadis planners:
J.Herbin inks and G. Lalo notecards:
Clairefontaine notebooks, including the Life.Unplugged series:
One whole table was covered in black and orange Rhodia goodness:
I’m excited about these neat notebooks, which fit a nice niche: a bit more substantial than the usual staple-bound cahier, with an elastic but not as bulky as a hardcover notebook:
My favorite size, 9 x 14 cm.
Here’s a peek at the paper in the new dot-grid Webbie:
And finally, I asked Karen if I could take a picture of the notebook she was using herself for her notes about the show. It’s the smallest size Clairefontaine, and looks like it’s taken a beating!
BookExpo is still going on today, make sure you stop by the Exaclair booth if you happen to be there… and if not, there’s always next year!
Sometimes I wish I lived in NY so I could attend all these fun things.
Thanks for sharing these photos!
I’ve now got serious Rhodia lust.
Is their a brand name or Item # to chase the 9 x 14 Pocket Notebooks with the Elastic closure, softbounds you like? Who can we order thenm and the Artist Journals in a similar size from? TIA, Jim
Jim, I think they aren’t arriving in stores until this fall, but most upscale stationery stores sell Rhodia. You can also find them online at Amazon and many other sites.
