Check out Drawing with a Squirrel, reviewing J. Herbin foutain pen inks in a Clairefontaine notebook:

J. Herbin are getting tons of good, erm, ink these days. Reviews are appearing on dozens of fountain pen, ink, drawing, and notebook blogs. No one has anything negative to say about these products. Love to try them, such a wide variety of colors. Unfortunately, all of my fountain pens use Sheaffer cartridges and it’s economically unfeasible to put convertors in them all.

David, You could save some of your cartridges and syringe fill them. I am planning to do just that with a couple of old Sheaffer carts to use with my old calligraphy set.
I absolutely love the middle alphabet there.
Thanks so much! I’m really honored that you featured my review :)
I do not have any converters, so I filled empty ink cartridges with a syringe. It worked well!
i love the orange ink. you have a wonderful website. i love pens and notebooks. ciao.
Oooh, those a beautiful! I use ZIG Memory System fine & chisel markers, or calligraphy markers to get much the same look! But I must say, they don’t quite have the same pizazz as these do!
Definitely syringe fill. I think you lose a little ink but if you buy a suitably tiny syringe, you only need a millilitre for most cartridges, you can minimise that.
I’m currently in love with “Heart of Darkness” by Noodler. Totally bulletproof and the darkest black I’ve ever experienced, flows perfectly, and looks better that “Black Velvet” from Private Reserve, and I didn’t think anything could top that.
